In the Transactions menu, select the type of standing order that you wish to set up (between own accounts, to an existing beneficiary or to a new beneficiary). Fill in the fields in the first box (country, account format, account number, beneficiary, message, amount, etc.) in the same way as for a transfer form. For more details, please visit the help section on submitting transfers.
1) Select a start date (first execution) for your standing order
You can choose between two options:
- end-of-month execution: tick “last business day of the month”. *Subsequently, the standing order will always be executed on the same date at the chosen frequency** (or 7 days later for weekly standing orders).
- execution on a specific date : to choose a specific date, click in the start date field; a calendar will appear allowing you to select your desired start date (which can be no later than the 26th of the month).
N.B.
The first execution date must be more than 2 working days after the current date.
If the execution date falls on a non-business day, the standing order will be executed on the next business day (this does not apply to weekly standing orders, for which the first execution date cannot fall on a Saturday or Sunday).
2) Select an end date for your standing order:
You can choose between two options:
- until cancelled : tick “until cancelled”; the standing order will remain valid until you decide to cancel it.
- cancellation on a specific date : to choose a specific date, click in the start date field; a calendar will appear allowing you to select your desired end date.
3) Frequency of the standing order
Select the frequency of the standing order. There are five options: annual, semi-annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly. For monthly standing orders, BILnet allows you to choose not to execute the order in one or several given months. Simply tick the corresponding box(es).
N.B. Are you trying to set up an international standing order but receiving a message stating that you are not authorised to do so?
Due to a security system built into BILnet, a country must be activated before you can transfer money to that country online.
Change the list of countries yourself by accessing the Personal Area of your BILnet menu at any time, or by contacting the BILnet technical hotline using secure messaging or by calling 00352 4590 4590 (8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays).
